Lock Repair

Doors that won't lock — or won't unlock — fixed and secured properly.

The Problem

A slider that will not lock is a security risk, and one that jams locked can trap you out of your own lanai. Corroded or misaligned latches are usually to blame.

Our Solution

We repair or replace the mortise lock and keeper, then align the latch so the door secures smoothly every time.

A sliding door lock is a simple mortise mechanism, but it depends on precise alignment between the latch in the door and the keeper in the frame. When the door sags on worn rollers or the hardware corrodes, that alignment slips and the lock stops engaging.

We repair or replace the lock mechanism and keeper and — critically — correct the underlying alignment so the fix lasts. Often a door that will not lock does not need a new lock at all; it needs the door raised back to the correct height on fresh rollers.

Security matters, especially on ground-floor lanai and patio doors. We make sure your slider locks positively and unlocks smoothly before we leave.

Lock Repair FAQs

My door won't lock anymore — is the lock broken?

Sometimes, but very often the door has simply dropped on worn rollers so the latch no longer lines up with the keeper. We diagnose the real cause rather than just swapping the lock.
